I'm done and need to convert or something

Starting to second guess myself.... I don't have the money to keep up with a chapter 13 for another 4 1/2 years. Being a stay at home parent and self employed its getting harder to make money to cover bills plus my payment.
News keeps saying everything is getting better but all of the people I know are still out of work or ready to go in to foreclosure.

What would you do? This is where I'm at.....

Community state, only I filed. Attorney said my wifes stocks($3000+/-) and 401K are safe because its under just her??????

We are both on our 2 cars and I can only exempt 1 (hers). I have a $1000 wild card. Attorney said I can get an appraisal on my car and cut that in half (her ownership) and use my wild card to cover the rest. May have to pay some to keep it??? Not sure yet because on my case it was listed as $1119 in assets and they crossed it out and put $3200 for car.

I'm looking to convert in June, maybe. I filed in Dec 2009 and at that time they had my gross average at $5915 a month with $277 DMI (didn't have all of wifes debt in budget). DMI is now $77 because of my mortgage and auto insurance going up. House is not in plan (never late.....yet). Cars are paid for, both from 2003.

I had paid $1500 upfront and the attorney has been paid another $918 out of my plan. I was told it is another $500 for me to convert. Could I not pay in June and use that money to cover some of the cost to convert??

Wife said that if she has to she would give up her stocks. Would you convert and risk the car and stocks? I could live without the 2nd car, it would be hard but I could. The debt is CC's and one joint debt (small). Attorney said wife would be covered under my BK but I may reafirm the joint debt just incase or just have her start paying it again.

I picked the end of June because I want to show that since I filed my income did not get better. I have about 5 weeks to make plans to get it done and the wait is killing me. It sucks having to start one way and then try and backup and start over.

Can she just sell the stocks (not today - the market is total crap) and put it into an IRA??
