Calculator/Information re: Market Value of Assets

Does anyone know where I can go to get a "market value" of my assets? I honestly have NO IDEA how much the stuff in my house is worth, such as couches, kitchen items, bedroom furniture, and all the rest.

I need info. I haven't gotten the list of assets to my attorney yet b/c I just don't know where to start!

    TIA!

eBay and Craigslist are good places to start.

No one expects your estimates to be down to the exact penny (or even dollar). So long as they are close, and done in good faith, you should be fine.

Look at what used couches are selling for on Craigslist in your area and use one that seems close to age/condition.

Most standard household items shouldn't get questioned if you use some comparable items.
Once you start getting into jewelry and high end electronics (things that have real liquidation value) you may get more scrutiny.

My attorney told us to use flea market/yard sale value. I also used ebay for bigger ticket items. I also found a list of fair market value items online by using Google. I took the lowest value for everything and the trustee didn't question anything.
