Wow . . . could things get any worse for us? Today I received a letter from the IRS that said we had miscalculated our 2008 tax return and that we owe them around $1400. My husband had taken a side job in 2008 and did some welding for some friends. We went ahead and filed thinking it was under the table, but now they reported his income and now we are stuck with the bill. Which we are not denying the taxes we will pay them but here is my question in regards to a 13. Can that payment amount we set to pay them back be accounted for in the means test to maybe help us out a little more at the time of filing to reduce our DMI?
