    Help with marital adjustment

I've been doing research regarding the marital adjustment and am having a hard time wrapping my finger around it. Please help!

Here's how our household bills are split up - I pay all of the utilities and $237 of the mortgage - my husband pays his car note, child support, $600 for house payment and we split the food costs. How should I enter his contributions for the marital adjustment for the means test.

All of the examples I've seen is where the non filing spouse gives to the filing spouse for household bills, other than groceries, he doesn't in my case. Do I just include that amount? Please help!

Your husband contributes the $600 towards the mortgage and 1/2 of the food costs. Average out your food costs and then take 1/2 the total and you'll have that amount. Then add both those items together and you'll have his contribution to the household.

Ok, so will I be able to include the mortgage in my calculations? Even though it's in his name?

I really don't know the answer to that. Is the mortgage in both your names? You said earlier that you contributed to the payment so I guess I'm confused.
