    Chase Mortgage and Surrendering house???

We are going to try to surrender our house in our Chapter 13. My question is how long is the process? From the time of surrender to moving out?

I know they have to lift the automatic stay in a 13, but I'm looking for a time frame.

Are we going to be looking for a place to rent this summer? Also, has anyone else gone from owning to renting with bankruptcy on record and had a difficult time getting someone to rent to you?

We have never been late on payments, in fact it is going to be a surprise to all of our creditors when we file.

We have a Chase Mortgage for 1st and 2nd. Anyone else deal with Chase.

      potsie834,
Thank you so much for your reply. Not surprised about Chase at all. Heard they play hard ball and are ruthless, and I am definitely ready to go to bat. We have 2 CCs, equity and Mortgage with Chase. Going to be fun.

I appreciate your reply. I have been worried about renting again, it's been a long time. I think any landlord would be lucky to have us.

      Congrats on your upcoming discharge.

Good luck to you, and I hope it works out; and yes I count down everyday to 5/15/10---CAN'T WAIT!!!
