    Allowed Expenses/School Supplies

My first post. I filed on 1/8/10 and reviewed my paperwork with the paralegal. One thing caught my attention and she said I would receive a copy to review before my 341 which is scheduled for 2/26/10. I have two children in a public elementary school. There was something about $200/month for school supplies or expenses. I know we don't spend anything near that amount unless it includes lunches, after school art classes, sports, etc. Does anyone know if school supplies or expenses is a standard "allowance" or should it be calculated like power bills, water bills, etc?

Everything is suppose to be what you actually spend. If school supplies is the only category you have listed for school, then yes, it should include everything: pens, paper, books, lunches, clubs, sports, etc. Don't forget items that you only pay for yearly also.

I know here it would be at least $70/mo just for 2 kids to have the standard lunch each day. $200 does not seem unreasonable at all for monthly school expenses for 2 children.

Thanks Forgotten! This make me feel much better. I have just been so nervous about everything. Afraid I'm going to have to show receipts for every little thing. My attorney said I have a routine case and that I have been very good about providing the required docs so far. Yes, the lunches alone add up! It is $11.25 per child each week for lunches here in MS. Then you add in field trips expenses, science fair expenses,.....
