Hello everyone - I check this site daily and am amazed at the people who are so supportive and helpful.

I am trying to convert my 13 to a 7 today - due to my husband's stroke and loss of income.

Just going to take today one hour at a time - my Schedule J looks fine, my attorney will be there and I am taking all my medical bills and documentation.

I hope all goes well - but the worse case that it gets dismissed, I'll be back for more advice and support.

    thank you everyone-

Best of luck to you and your DH. Leave in plenty of time so you won't have traffic and parking issues. Make sure you have your DL and SS cards...

Hello - just back - 7:24 - long day - had to take train to Chicago -

Got there early - the room was packed to the ceiling - and finally they brought in another trustee.

My attorney called me while I was there - she was detained at a Chatper 13 hearing across town.

I was called in - the trustee asked me to take a seat - I proceeded without my attorney and 2 minutes later - done.

He was the nicest man ever - asked me about 5 questions - told me he was proud I made it as far as I did - told me that everyone was going to be fine, that I would be discharged and to have a blessed day.

I teared up and gathered all my documents - he only looked at my recent pay stub.

And left - only to find my attorney bursting through the elevator - sad that she was not there to see me through it.

          - thanks to everyone and I wish you well on your journeys.

          Lori

I know it will - I was surprised how quick the process was - and the more prepared you are with documents, the better -

Wonderful news, Lori! My thoughts and prayers are with your husband hoping for a solid recovery after his stroke. And here's a big <HUG> for you - way to go! You did a great job today! Your conversion will go smoothly - your lawyer sounds like she really cares about representing you well. Keep us posted about how the process goes, and we'll be here to listen whenever you might need us over in the Ch 7 forum area

Thanks everyone - does anyone know what I might expect for next messages on PACER? I can imagine it would take days to get all the information updated, since the room was so packed yesterday.
