I am 30 months into a 36 month plan. My car payment was included in the chapter13 plan and was paid off with my payment 2 months ago. The unsecured debt is now being paid. At what point do I receive my car title?

Do you have paperwork showing that the automobile portion has been satisfied? If you do, I would think you could send copies to the lien holder and ask for the title. Had 2 cars in my plan. It depends on the lender. One we rec'd right away and one took 2-3 months after they were paid off in the plan. I was not in a hurry since I knew we'd be driving both of those cars through the plan and beyond....

my jeep was paid off two months into my plan.. Chrysler Financial mailed the title the trustee and the trustee contacted me to give me the heads up that they were mailing me the title.Comment

Some lenders will send the title as soon as the car is paid off through your plan. Others will hang on to the title until your 13 is successfully discharged. Ask your lawyer if your lender is one of those who hangs on to the title until your plan is over.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
