Rejected vehicle lease

I rejected a BMW lease in my plan, and my plan should be confirmed shortly.

I still have the car... I filed in June and the lease is currently 11 months past due. BMW has not filed for a relief of stay or made any attempt to contact me or my attorney about the vehicle.

My question is, after my plan is confirmed do I just keep the car and wait to see if someone contacts me? I find it really odd I can be a year past due on a rather expense vehicle and no one seems to want it back.

I would make ONE good faith attempt at who ever takes your lease money to pick it up. If no action, keep using it. You are still responsible for it, but to date it is free to use. Read the fine print to see if you may become responsible for new debt by using the car after your confirmation. Don't let them trick you. 'Hub

Sounds like I should have rejected our Mercedes and used it for free :-)

Give them a call - - perhaps they have some outdated contact info or maybe they don't care.
