Just got served a summons from Bishop white and Marshall. For discover card for 8k.

We're signing the papers for our ch 13 on Tuesday, but I'm still freaking out. I know that dh, is going to come unglued when he gets home.

We'll be fine right? we're filing on Tues. the 15th.

You were served, but the CH 13 will stop all further collection efforts, by law they are barred from trying to collect after that. Not a problem, there's nothing they can do, just go ahead and file, it'll be ok!

We, 'Hub and I, had been sued by American General and a mortgage company for a car note that he had foolishly co-signed for an acquantance, after the acquaintance defaulted. We were just before going to arbitration in the legal processes when we finally got our worthless lawyer to file. That stopped everything in its tracks. Those debts were discharged.

I was served by two creditors for lawsuits, one was actually at the point where they could request a default judgment when I filed. Both suits were dismissed after the filing. You'll be fine.
