As if you guys haven't answered enough...![cool](https://www.bkforum.com/core/images/smilies/cool.png)
I have a car that I pay $318 a month on. I owe about $17000 on it. We're going to be filing CH13 soon. I'd like to surrender/get rid of that car payment. I'd like to find something cheaper. My parents have offered to finance a used vehicle for me to ensure that I get a decent car that won't break down on me tomorrow. I would just pay them monthly. I'm ok with that. I even thought about it drafting from my account to theirs if that's possible.
I'm upside-down on my car. When can I get rid of it? Do I have to wait until I "surrender" it? I don't want a double car payment but I want to make sure I have a car in plenty of time. Is that still going to count on my paperwork? Will the trustee be against this? If I turn my car in now what will happen?
