    Confused...

I am in need of advise/clarification for filing in the state of PA.

I am looking at legalconsumer.com for the PA Means Test in my area. In the expenses part (Part 5) it has IRS allowances for Food, Clothing, household supplies and personal. Is that amount automatically used on the Forms that are used to file?

There is also automatic figures for Health, Autos, etc.

Do you have to prove those amounts? What if you don't spend all of the "allowed" IRS Expenses?

Thank you so much for any help.

For form B-22 (the means test), yes, you use the allowed amount.

On schedule I&J you put your actual amounts. Sounds like you should probably get an attorney, because if you are required to even do part II of the means tests (keep in mind, if you pass part I [over/under median], you don't even do part II, actual income vs. allowed expenses), you should get some professional help. Rules very in districts on the issue of whether you can claim the "allowed" amount on Schedule I&J if you don't actually spend it.
