    Chapter XIII and foreclosure

I know someone whose house key-lock was changed by the lender and foreclose their home, can they still file Chapter 13 even they are already out the house and wipe out old debts? It's only been less than a month.
    File BK7: Jan 4, 2010
    Reschedule 341: Mar 16 2010
    Discharged: Apr 22 2010
    Closed: May 6, 2010

They should talk to a lawyer in their district, they may be better suited for Chapter 7, especially in a state where the lender can and chooses to chase for the remainder from a sheriff sale.

Also there are some states where a sheriff sale can be undone, I know that is not an option in PAED or PAMD Pennsylvania
I am a Pennsylvania Eastern and Middle District Bankruptcy, FDCPA, FCRA and Foreclosure Defense attorney, information I post is based on experience in these districts. It is not legal counsel, consider it friendly counsel.
