Selling a vehicle

I was wondering how long I would have to wait to file bankruptcy if I sold a vehicle to catch up on my mortage payments and do some repairs around the house.

The big thing with selling stuff before BK is making sure you sell them for fair market value and don't go paying off one creditor with the proceeds, especially friends and family. Use the money for living expenses as you said.

There is nothing wrong with selling stuff for cash to live on.
