    IRS standards

When filling out expense forms, is it allowed to use the the IRS standards on categories that we don't spend as much money on, like the food standard for 4 I beleive is $740, we CAN"T spend $740 dollars per month on food currently.....eating rice and beans and beans and rice....

    Thanks for any input.

crazy huh! I'm going grocery shopping and buying the premium stuff now!

Seriously, our paralegal gal told us that when she makes out our expense amounts she could give up to that $740 figure. I guess if you need more you have to somehow prove it.

You'll want to make sure you get every bit of the food allowance. Keep in mind this allowance includes all cleaning supplies, paper products, grooming supplies, etc. If you add up what you spend each month on food, shampoo, garbage bags (you get the idea) you'll find you are probably darned close. If there is extra tuck it away for emergencies.

The $100 or so extra each month out of our grocery budget comes in handy in more ways than one. Sometimes it's a business lunch that my husband has to attend (not in the IRS approved budget), other times it's for a household repair that comes up unexpectedly.

Christmas? In my household I host the Christmas dinner for my sons and their families. I'll be darned if I'll stop buying a nice ham and turkey!

This is what gripes me! I don't agree with some trustee or judge telling me what me and my family can live on. How do they no! The IRS! Please!

This is why i'm considering going ch7 instead. We'll find out the 28th when we meet with our attorney to find out our expence's and what tweak's they have for us. If it's not good i'm bailing!!

To many things are going up in price. My daycare will be changing next year. $45 more a week. My work insurance is going to double in January. Who know's about the price of gas and groceries. How am I supposed to get the $$ in my plan now for future expence's. Is there a section on schedule J for that?! Whatever goes up in $$ will come out of something like your groceries or car repairs.

        The problems never end! lol

well in 2005 all of the senators and congressmen and women thought it was a good deal for the creditors to make debtors pay back some of their debt. The idea was to make it difficult to walk away as one does in a chapter 7.

Now I guess some of those same senators are kicking themselves because it has only hurt the citizens and helped out the creditors a lot.
