Discharged !!! WooHoo!!

received the official discharge papers in the mail yesterday
Oct 4, 2004 to Sep 8, 2009

Now the time to get it all removed from the CR

Does anyone know if I need to report to the CRA with letters and copies to get it removed

My attorneys Legal Assistant said they will mail out to all of the creditors, but would wonderd if it would help also coming from me

the court has already updated your credit report for you I am sure. My discharge posted within hours.

All you have to do is update your accounts to reflect "discharged" and not Included in Wage Earner Plan anymore. (you can't legally "remove" them unless they are older than 7 years)

but other than that, the court has notified the bureaus of your discharge already.

Congrats. I am curious though, since I am also waiting it seems like forever in Pittsburgh for my discharge. How long from when you got your completion letter to discharge?

Waiting for discharge took quite awhile. My attorney had me make extra payment in Oct and Nov 08, and my payroll deductions stopped the first week of January. I had thought discharge would come a little sooner, but there were some challenges from one of the creditors.

The trustee sent the completion letter late July or Early August, so it was just about 1 month, maybe just over.

I am just so glad it is over. I do not plan to go hog wild on credit, but I can now start with purchasing my home. CRedit never was my problem in the first place, just bit off a little to much when it came to car payments, and then had a loss of income and savings. Looking back I sometimes think 7 would have been better, and let me have an earlier start

To me it makes it more significant. It's like pre-historic. It's like... so 1990's, so retro, so... chic and cool.

(I think I'm just trying to be "hip". I thought that the term "Old School" was a term of respect these days. Perhaps I'm not hip.)
