I know some posters have said to not worry too much about using "National Data" as an official source of information, but I am wondering about the posting of payments.
Facts:
Payment is due on or before the 9th.
Sent payment by certified/return mail on 7/30/09.
Did not receive the "green" certified return post office card showing the payment was received with a signature.
Went online to check and it says post office made an attempt to deliver on Friday, 8/7/09.
Then next status on usps.com/tracking, it lists the payment was received and signed on Sunday, 8/9/09 at 4:30 am. (Anybody working that early? Unless it's just a warehouse opened 24 hours.). Hmmm. Oh and my payment is now being sent to Tennessee per my trustee's last instructions.
_____
So for the most part, I have proof my payment was received on my "payment due date" of 8/9/09.
I checked Nationa Data and it shows the payment received on 8/11/09.

Since I have proof of mailing my payment (this is why I truly believe certified-return mail is a must), should I not worry too much that National Data "posted" it 2 days later?
Are trustees prudes if they make a big stink about a payment being late 1-2 days? (In my case, Again, I have proof - so not too worried there. )
I know it may differ from district to district.
Thanks for your input.
