    Chapt 13 "About to Close"

    Hi everyone, well it's been a long road, but a wonderful one. I about to make what I believe to be my last payment of $528 a month to chapter 13. I noticed on the National Data Center is says "About to Close". What exactly does this mean. Does this mean that soon I'll receive my discharge? And at what point will my employer receive notice to stop deducting from my paycheck? Thanks everyone for your support and all the info you have provided. Without you I would have gone crazy... It's almost over, YAY!!!

    I just saw another post about "about to close" so that answered my question. However, I do have 1 more question: Will I have to attend court for the discharge? My atty died, so.....that means what to me? Would I need to hire another atty for this? I hope nothing goes wrong between now and then!!!

    No, you do not have to attend court for the discharge - the discharge notice will come in the mail and show up on PACER. And no, you do not need to hire a new lawyer.

    A big CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on being so close to finishing your 13!! Way to go!! Remember you need to keep paying every month until your discharge notice arrives - any overpayments will be returned to you once your trustee finishes auditing your case. And I also hope nothing goes wrong between now and your discharge either!

    06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
    08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !
    10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
    Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

      OMG, I just checked and now Data 13 says "Completed", OMG I'm so excited. I did it! I did it!! Yay. So now, I just need to be patient to receive my discharge in the mail and any over payments. I hope they contact my employer before they withdraw another payment. I only get paid once per month, so on the 31st another check and hopefully they'll cancel before that one! I won't bet on it, but can wish. Yay!! THanks Everyone!! And good luck and best wishes to those to come. You can do it! It's not easy, but you can!!!!

        Congratulations on making it to the end! Way to go!!

        I bet it will be soon that your employer received notice!

        I also just completed; my employer received notice to stop the wage garnishment this last Friday and Saturday morning 13data said my case was completed!
