    Question: Name change?

    I've been married almost a year now and hadn't changed my name.. Part of it was because I am in a chapter 13... WELL, Wednesday I did.. Honestly my bankruptcy completely slipped my mind. What should I do? I googled it but could only find information for Austrailia... and there penalty for not immeadiately informing the trustee is 6 months imprisonment. I work right up the road from my trustee. Should I drop off a written notice that I've changed my name to my new married name? My Bk has already been modified to include my new married household income.

    Wow. Prison time for not informing about a name change right away? That's insane.

      Just inform the trustee and have your attorney file a name change with the court. No big deal.

        Okay, thank you.. I was unsure. I've sent an email to my paralegal with a scan of my new docs. Hopefull that will be all I need to do.
