Buying a car before ch 13?

My hubby has 2 cars that he trades off driving and they are knocking on deaths door. Both 1989 cars. We also have a 2002 Tahoe, we plan to cram down in our ch 13.

The bk attorney mentioned getting a small car payment, for a car to get us through 5 years of BK for hubby.

I have 2 ?

1. When we go to the car lot to buy something used, is it better to tell them the truth about the BK, (which is why our credit is now trashed, we aren't paying any cc's, but have been paying all secured debt on time) Or is it better to "play dumb"? Do we reaffirm the car in the BK?

Play dumb you will never get financed if you don't. They will ask what you are doing with the vehicles however so be prepared to answer with we are keeping them or we are trading them in etc. you will have to reaffirm because it is a new loan
