Having the vehicle towed could cause more problems. In Nevada, you would end up responsible for the towing charges and storage charges. This is if you are the registered owner of the vehicle - I am not sure about other state's laws regarding this.
I have a suggestion that may work. Call around and web search for "car donation services". Some will take your vehicle running or not - and give you a receipt that they took your vehicle - so that you can write off the donation from your taxes. Make sure you ask the representative specifically about the situation you are in regarding the CR leinholder though.
The charity that you donate the car to will fix it - and get the title clear - so that they can sell it or give it to a needy individual to drive.
