Find out how many cases he is currently working, also if he specializes in Ch 7 or Ch 13 cases. Find out if he will ATTEND the 341 or send someone else - this is important if you have a complex case. Find out his preferred method of communication - phone, email etc. Also find out about the Trustee's in your district - if he is experienced he will be able to give you all the "inside" info about the various trustees. (An example - my Trustee and the Judge in my case feel Directv/Dish are a luxury item. This is info that is handy to know when you are filling out your schedules. Lucky I canceled the service before filing! )
The rest of the information would be specific to your case and your goals

Discharged Jan 5, 2009! Closed Jan 18, 2009 I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..
Here are some questions we asked at our first meeting.
1. What happens if I or hubby loses job?
2. What happens to any bonuses? Do we get them?
3. What happens to our income tax refund? What if we owe the IRS?
4. What happens if our car quits? Or the heating and or air goes out?
I always think of the worst scenerios and ask questions pertaining to those. Also don't let your lawyer rush you out of the office. If he/she doesn't have time to answer your questions, I would look for a new lawyer. Our lawyer done a good job, but acted like he was in a big hurry and was bothered by answering our questions. Last, keep reading these forums!! We have learned alot from this forum !! I would have had a nervous breakdown if it hadn't been for the people on here. Good Luck!!
