    Means Test

1st Day here. Although I am in tears I have learned ALOT thru your post.

We were told we could not file C7 because our income is slightly over medium for WA state. I am self employed and attorney told me ALL of my "sales" are considered income, they do not take into consideration expenses. (This is not right!!) When I take our actual income and deduct the "gov standard expenses" we are in the red (we got into a 15 yr mortgage 5 yrs ago that should have been 30yr, thats when problems started)

I do not know where we will get the money to pay the monthly payment to trustee. Currently I am not able to buy postage to mail stmnts for my clients and we can not make our mortgage for the month.

Should I reduce my client base to reduce my income and wait anohter 6 months to file. I am lost and very distraught that we are in this situation.

Thank you, in advance for your input.

explain more about your self employed sales.
I do not provide legal advice. All I do here is give my two cents as an opinion and at least share some of the facts that I know. Attorneys can provide legal advice, so go ask them or hire one.

I run a medical billing service. I have no employees. I submitted my expenses, however I do not know if they will use my actual expenses or what the Government says is the "average". So I am wondering if I reduce my business to get below the means test or stay where I am.

I am so new, confused and scared.
      Thank you for your input.
