    Ch 13 and unemployment

I'm on unemployment from my former W2 job, and also have some self employment income - trying to work every agle to make some money. My husband's is self-employment income and low. We also have some income from MIL living with us and giving us a stipend for her board- while my husband serves as her health care worker, which limits him from getting 2nd job.

We filed CH 13 months later than expected, so budget submitted was skewed from anticipated income numbers taken from months ago, and down from what was submitted. Had 341 hearing last week and ttee wants P&Ls for 6 mo prior to current month - to be submitted before confirmation. I'm afraid the plan won't be confirmed. Just learning all about this, so forgive my ignorance. Is it best to suggest to atty that we amend the plan now, before ttee gets all this documentation to review? I think the monthly is too high as we're already struggling to pay the mortgage. MIL is lending us some $ to make the bills.

An obvious question to ask - why didn't your lawyer change the numbers to reflect your current income situation before filing your case? Did you tell your lawyer that your income had significantly decreased since your Ch 13 forms were first completed?

Talk to your lawyer as soon as possible and discuss what's the best way to proceed.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Just remember that if your income is substantially lower now than what you guys used to file your case, then the case could very well be infeasible now. Most likely, and I say that because I know nothing substantial about your case, this will do nothing for the trustee payment.

You might be resigned to either converting or refiling.....pending eligibility.
I do not provide legal advice. All I do here is give my two cents as an opinion and at least share some of the facts that I know. Attorneys can provide legal advice, so go ask them or hire one.
