We finally found and paid for a lawyer to file Chapter 13 for us. They want March, April, May and June bank statements. Here's our problem... In March, there are multiple withdrawals - all in the same night at a casino. Husband and I went out for a night of fun and wound up spending way too much. We didn't take this out as a cash advance or use a credit card - it was cash from our checking account that we got from his 2 weeks of working on a special overtime project at work.
Should we delay filing by one month so that bank statement drops off? Will it be a problem? Will the trustee hammer us over it? It was a total of $1600! We spent the entire trip home freaking out about it and ruined a perfectly good evening. I'm not even sure if I should tell the lawyer about it - would it hurt us or help us? Dunno.
Little background - We haven't used any credit at all in the last 18 months. We have no assets. We have no unique circumstances. All our expenses are well within normal. We live on cash only and within our means. This was a one time extravagance and now I'm afraid we'll get nailed for it.
