    Just back from attorney's office

As some of you know, we've had a ruff few years. Yes we have prior BK in our history, no I'm not proud of that by any means. But life sometimes happens, and not the way would would like. We first explored Chapter 13, last fall. But we were scared and didn't want to "file again" at that time our attorney told us we would be in the 100% club, due to the fact our 4 years had not yet passed. We were making provisions to go ahead and file, however with the help of all of you, we decided to wait a bit, and am I glad we did.

After today's visit the attorney tells me if we just wait until July, we can go from 100% payback to about .20 on the dollar!!! Plus we can cram the car down. Currently my car payments are 547 the BK payment including the car will be about 600-650!!!

I'm so glad I found this site. Again, we are not trying to make a habit out of filing, believe me when I say, if you think filing once is bad, try 2xs!! However, after lots of praying and talking, we have finally come to terms that we can't handle credit....period! It has caused so many sleepless nights, tears, fights, and complete shame. I almost wish before we would have gone through Chapter 13, I forget which one of you great folks on the board said this, but someone said, "Chapter 13 is the greatest lesson you can go through" Perhaps if we would have been forced to take such a deep look into our selves before we would not be here again.

Oh well, I guess there is nothing at this point we can do but move forward and actually look at this as a blessing. Cause it is.

I'll keep you posted as things move along. And I'm sure as I start filling out my paperwork I'll have questions,

    Thanks again to everyone,

    Dumbagain.

The Chapter 13 quote you stated above was from me because it is so true - it is the best budget teacher in the world.

What you both need to do is investigate a support group like Debtor's Anonymous when you get yourselves organized and back on your feet. The world is changing out there as to this economy and material things just don't mean that much anymore (they never really did but eventually everyone finds that out down the line)...

    Best of luck to you...

If there was a religion that teaches the sins of credit, I would seek out such a Church/Temple/Mosque!
Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17
