Yep, Mr. Repoman. Knocked on the front door right before my party was to start. I wasn't expecting him so I opened the door. He said he was there for the Dodge Durango. I told him my husband had it on his trip out of town until next week. I also told him we just hired an attorney. He says "for what?" I told him BK and he aasked if we will be filing in the next week or so? I said yes. He said "I'll give you till next Saturday then I'll be back". Does he think Im that stupid? He also drove by again a couple of hours later.....Chrysler keeps calling as well. So, I will call my attorney first thing Monday and see what he says and how fast we can get this thing filed. It would be nice to have another 30-60 days without a car payment! I really had hoped they'd be so back logged I could have had another few weeks....

We were 2 months behind when the repo guy showed up. Said he was there to pickup the Honda and I informed him it wasn't here. He said, "oh, so you are going to hide it then?" Said no that if it was in the garage I would tell him so. He repeated his statement once again and I said no but that I watch tv too and even if it was in the garage he couldn't get it. Actually, the wife had it at work. Told him we had an attorney but had not yet filed. The guy knew the atty and that was pretty much that. He was really quite cordial but I stand 6'5" and tip the scales around 280 and he was maybe 160 and 5'9" so that might have influenced his behavior.Filed 11/10/08

Sassiebaz, I'm sure you know this already - that when the repo man talks he is lying.
The odds are very good that he has no intention of giving you until Sat to file - he is just trying to let you relax a little so he can get the car.
Your attorney should be able to do an emergency filing - but then you would have to make sure all the rest of the petition is completed and filed within x days of the filing (I think 10 or 15 days - don't hold me to it!). Good luck with your BK filing!Filed CH 7 9/30/2008

Yes, I called my attorney's office and didn't get any immediate answers. The gal that answered the phone said she'd look into our file and get back to me today or tomorrow. I definately don't put anything into what repo guy said. Im sure they'll be coming everyday to look for the vehicle. Oh well, not much I can do now.....

Yup, they'll be back.. They don't care anything about the BK... and are basically contracted to the financing institutions and get paid by how many they pick up, so obviously they just want the car.Disclaimer: Young, NOT Dumb.(._.) The plan: $480 monthly for 60 months at 100%. 07/12/08

Well that is just peachy. Hopefully you can do the filing this week to slow them down. If you file and emergency petition...you have about 10 business days to get the rest done. I hope your attorney can get moving so you don't have to deal with this anymore.Filed - 12/24/08 (Merry Christmas Credit Cards!)
