can we convert to chapter 7?

Hi all, this question may have already been ask...but here goes. We have been told by a few people that if you work you cannot convert to chapter 7 from a 13. Is that true? Reason I am asking is my unemployment will run out in October ( I know.. I have a while, but I am already in a panic) We are in a100 % payback but the only secured we have is 2 cars and the house. (Alot of credit cards and hospital bills.) If we can get the house reaffirmed and at least one of the cars, ( other car is on last leg) can we switch to chapter 7? Hate to contact attorney, because I never contacted them about being laid off because I am drawing same amount I would have brought home every week if I had been working. Thanks for any info you can share!!

Yes, you can convert if you pass the means test.

We just filed our conversion from a 13 to a 7 a few days ago. When your unemployment is about to run out let your lawyer know that your income will be changing and get your conversion ready.
