We originally filed a Chapter 13, but the UST made us convert to a chapter 13. We, too, had to write an essay on why we filed bankruptcy. At the time, it was embarrassing. It was bad enough that we had to file bankruptcy. I felt like we were branded with the scarlet "B", but we wrote and submitted the letter, nothing was said and we were confirmed without a problem. Like Lprn said, do it, check it off your list and move on. Good Luck!
