If I have recent balance transfers or purchases to the cards I will be including in my ch 13 totaling under $500 will they have a problem with that?

Frankly, less than $500 total in balance transfers and charges already made within 90 days of filing is not going to return enough $$ if the creditors challenge the transfers and charges as non-dischargeable. Ask your lawyer to be certain, but 99.99% of the time, the creditors are going to let this amount pass.
This does not mean that it's ok to now make new transfers and charges under $500 before filing hoping to get away with it. That fits the definition of bk fraud - borrowing the money already knowing you are going to file with no intent to pay it back.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
