Keeping boat in Ch13

Just a point of order here: Chapter 13 bankruptcy payment orders are NOT garnishments, since you are making them voluntarily and are they not the result of a court judgment. Unlike garnishment payments, you can vacate your bankruptcy proceeding at any time, if you wish (albeit, not without repercussions).

Well I look at it this way. If they won't let me keep my boat then I should just file ch7. I do have equity in my truck but I drive a work vehicle anyway so they can my truck also. Other than the boat with no equity and the truck with about $5000 equity the house really has none and most of my personal things aren't worth that much.

Thanks everyone for your help gonna go and contact attorney and hope for the best. Hopefully in a couple of months hope will return to my life when I can finally get out of this debt. Thanks

Thanks for the clarification as I did not know that. I was assuming that it was a garnishment being that it was automatically deducted from my bi-weekly pay. Wasn't given the option as they requested payroll deduction from my employer (GOV'T) and if that didn't go thru then I would have to pay monthly.
