Should I dismiss if I have a buyer

Just looking for advice. If I get a buyer for my house would it be better for me to dismiss before I sell. My 13 was to save my house and I'm in it for 80% on unsecured which is only a couple grand. I was thinking if I dismiss I at least cut out the blood sucking trustee's 7%. That way I could sell pay off everything that can come back and haunt me and save 4 or 5 grand. Just wondering if anyone went this route?

    Thanks

If you allow your Ch 13 to be dismissed, you get to repay 100% of what you originally owed ALL your creditors PLUS horrendous compounded interest that picks right back up from the day you filed. You could owe A LOT more than you think you do. Also you get the ten-year hit on your credit from the dismissed bk - you can forget getting decent credit for a long, long time.

Do nothing until you've discussed this thoroughly with your lawyer.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I would say first you need to think this over thoroughly. lrprn is right about owing more than you think. The trustee's 7% is peanuts compared to what the interest is going to be on your original creditors. Think 2+ years of daily compounding interest. Your original creditors would be at like 200% interest if not more. Makes the trustee's 7% look like a good deal.

Plus from your signature you are already 2 years in. If you made it this far it would be silly to dismiss now. You are getting to the home stretch to freedom.

      Good luck.
