Ok here's the update.....
Yes, they did in fact get my federal but, they only paid themselves the past due amounts. Thank goodness!!!! I had it out with tax preparer(who happens to be my brother) and he insists that he did not make any mistakes. Unfortunately, I didn't get the return in my email attachments until this week and he had already efiled. He had my new bank acct. # from my new credit union right but looks like he just copied the routing # from last years return. Yes, and honest mistake. But, one he refuses to admit to. He has completely enraged me with his arrogance and unwillingness to be responsible for his error. I will NEVER use him for anything again!!! His response was, "well atleast I got you a refund, where you were going to owe had you done it yourself"..... I know I know, sounds like another issue altogether...maybe I should start a forum about how family members stab you in the back?????
So, yes, I did get some of my refund and for that I am grateful. However, how is this going to affect me filing. I am now totally caught up on one car loan and one credit card.....where I havent paid the other (10) in almost 5 months......
Thank you all so much for hearing me out. Mainly, I just wanted to vent! I was so upset. I had called the IRS and they couldn't do a thing. The tax guy is in NY and it was past midnight when I first noticed the mistake. So, I'm over it now. What's done is done. But my relationship with my brother is seriously damaged(it was never good to begin with).
