The trustee didn't object to our plan, but as you can see by my signature line, offered to DECREASE the payment by $97. It doesn't sound like a lot, but I'm glad we can add that little bit to our savings each month!

If your lawyer calculated the deductions wrong or had double deductions - the trustee's lawyer will find it during the 341 meeting.

You have to be judicious in what you claim on your expenses and use common sense. You should not try to inflate your expenses, but nickel-and-dime the hell out of them. I list everything, and I mean everything. And I don't get many expenses objections at all. I make sure that whatever I put down can be proved and that it's in the ballpark of what's acceptable. I provide a little cushion here and there.

But really, I nickel-and-dime about an extra $300.00 out of the budget by the time all is said in done, but it's all legit. It's things the person spends their money on. Bank and atm fees, professional courses, pet food and pet care, school lunches, gym memberships, etc. If something is high, I will tell the client that they should be prepared to prove the expense. I also tell them that I take out everything, knowing that I may have to give some of it back ... and often times its very little. A well prepared budget goes a long way towards your success.

yes, our attorney had us paying back $1400.00 a month....which REALLY strapped us. The trustee rejected it. Turns out, our attorney did NOT consider the income taxes we pay on our retirement.....dropped our payments by $600.00 a month...THANK GAWD!!!!

My plan was not confirmed the first time. The trustee could have been a jerk and made us pay over $1,200, but in the end my payment was a lot less. It is nothing more than a cat and mouse game and alot of give and take.
