Can someone give me a basic idea of the timeline of a ch13

I have so much info overload right now....and I know this is such a simple question...but I need it laid out for my brain to compute

so you hire laywer and they work out a plan and payment for you?

then they file and submit the paperwork?

then about 60 days later you have the 341 meeting?

then you get a discharge or approval (not sure the ch 13 lingo)??

is this right?? when do you start making payments??

I had to make my first payment 30 days after filing - which happened to be right before or right after my 341 (I can't remember). Interestingly, I still haven't been confirmed due to an objection my atty is working through with the credit union for my car loan crams (and we filed around july 4th and had our 341 in early August).

Here is our timeline:

Hired attorney - 10/20/08

Filed paper - 2/3/09

First payment paid and due 3/3/09

341 scheduled - 3/31/09

confirmation scheduled - 5/1/09

How many days do unsecured creditors have to submit claims if they want to be included in our plan (being paid)? Is it 30, 60, or 90 days? Am I understanding this correctly, if they do not submit a claim, they get nothing?

Confirmation Hearing - Originally scheduled for 2/25. We are lein stripping, so confirmation hearing was rescheduled for 4/15/09.

Creditors have 90 days from the date of the 341 to file their claim. No claim...no money from the plan and they miss out.

Our timeline:

Retained attorney - 11/18/08
Filed - 12/24/08 (Merry Christmas Credit Cards!)
341 - 2/5/09 (1st payment due and paid at meeting)
Confirmation - Scheduled for 3/19/09 (Probably won't have to go, no real objections)

90 days is correct for non-government creditors. Government creditors (for ex, the IRS) have 120 days from the 341 to file a claim.

I stand corrected. I forgot the IRS and such have a longer time frame. Thank goodness we don't owe them.

Or you can be like me and get confirmed the same day as the 341....it varies with every district...
