actually, the refund is supposed to be used to buy my son another car. He wrecked his a few weeks ago and im going to get him something else to drive

This will be a problem with the Trustee unless you buy a car that is under the amount allowed for the exemption. Make sure to talk to your attorney before you spend the funds - so the funds can go to the right areas.
