    Trustee payments after Ch. 13

hi everyone. i just found this forum and it looks great!

had my initial consultation with an attorney today. looks like i will only qualify for a ch. 13, which is fine with my but i am worried about the payments being high. right now i'm paying about $1100-$1200 per month in cc bills and a personal loan i have and am stretched extremely thin (just recently got a $4000 raise to $62000/year).

the reason i'm doing this is because i can only barely make my payments, bills, and rent as it is and i'm worried that i'll come out of this with a payment to the trustee that is still high.

i realize this may seem like an elementary issue/question but is it nearly assured that my payment to the trustee will be lower than what i'm currently paying monthly for my ccs and personal loan?

    thanks!!!

Hi and welcome to this board!

Don't worry, you're payments will definately be less than what you are currently paying to your cc's. Go to this website: http://legalconsumer.com/ and do the means test yourself (punch in your zip code) and it will tell you if you qualify for a ch 7 or ch 13 and they it will give you an approx. repayment amount. Remember to list (for your attorney) all expenses including things that aren't purchased on a monthly basis: contacts, glasses, AAA services, etc. Good Luck!
