    Raise A Glass....Discharged!

Talked to the Trustee yesterday, I've been waiting on the final word on this, I've been all paid for about 60 days. took a little while, then she said, looks like you are discharged. Said I should be getting the official word from the court any day.
Didnt get it today, then I thought about logging into Pacer. Been a while since I did that, finally got logged in....and there it was...

2 documents - Final report from the Trustee and the next day the Court responded with my Discharge!!!!

I paid back 100% of my debt, just shy of 60K in just over 3 years. When it started I was 18 months behind in my mortgage, in forclosure.

    Things are looking up.

Thanks for the help over the past 3 years.

        yes. Congratulations!!!!!!

Discharge is such a sllloooooowwwwww process. I feel so close, yet so far away. I talked to my trustee yesterday. In Michigan, this is how it works. My "final" audit was done and discharge was recommended. Now the "closing" gal will send out the final checks on Dec 19. After all of those have cleared (hopefully quick) THEN the 30 day letter for objections goes out (so now into January, for sure). After that 30 days, then on to the court for discharge. So even though I am done, my actual discharge won't happen until late February maybe even early March.

So it is nice that your process seems to be much quicker!

RRockin..you really shouldnt start that clock until you know the final checks have cleared. For me that was agony. Wells Fargo took 45 days. And it's not really when the check clears, but when Wells Fargo sent the "ok" back to the trustee that they got the money. It was an extra large amount on the last payment, and I think I really confused Wells. I could see the check had cleared on the Trustee web site, after that I had to wait for the cylce of the month, for them to do an update. Which was Dec 1. After that it was wam bam done.
It does feel good, the big thing for me, is I am waiting word on a Top Secret Clearance from the gov't. I think having this BK Status will help.

              Thanks

you're are right. The trustee's office told me yesterday it all hinges on how fast the creditors cash their checks. Mine are going out just prior to the holiday. The trustee's office is shut down for 2 weeks, until the first of the year as are many businesses. I figure it won't happen for me until March. Oh well, at least I am not making any more payments.
