CH 13- For the debt to be actually discharged...

    Hi all,

I have a question- In order for a debt to be actually discharged, does it have to be on the Schedule F, or will the MML suffice? What if I'm not sure of the amount of the debt, can the debt still be discharged as an "unknown" or "disputed" amount?

    Thanks

All creditors need to be listed on Schedule F.

For most people, the amount of the debt for schedule F is irrelevant, thus, if you don't know, simply put unknown and list it as disputed.

Yes, you need to list all debts on Schedule F for them to be discharged.

If you're unsure of the amount, put $1.00 (I noticed this is a technique a few lawyers use in my District), and check it as "disputed".

The matrix (MML as you called it), is insufficient. However, you could argue that the creditor knew or should have known. But that's a whole bunch of litigation you shouldn't worry about. Just list all debts, even ones you're not sure of, on Schedule F. I used my credit report(s) to find everything... even things I didn't know about!
