I think I already know the answer to this question, but thought I'd ask anyway. Would using a bunch of accrewed points on Amex be viewed the same as charging a certain amount prior to filing, or does this not figure in to the 6 mo look back?

I am about to file and cashed mine in too. They're yours since they're based on charges and payments you've made on those charges. You don't earn the points until you actually pay the bill for the things you've bought. I think it'd be something different if you could charge up the card then get points and never pay for what you initially charged.
just my 2 cents

I cashed in over 100K in points on AMEX (got a nice Movado stainless bangle watch for a friend).
I didn't even think twice because it was on a platinum Amex, which was paid each month... so... I didn't feel bad.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)

Since the amount is low, I'd say CASH THEM IN!!!
Oh, BTW You guys make me envious..I had a citibank card.."Points"? were only good for ordering mags, which I could easily get for 50% off anyway. Tried to get them to change it to something else. They refused, tried to cash them in "They really have no vaue Sir" No kidding, I found that out when using them..Cheaper for me to hit online sellers
Damn, why didn't I do amex when I was riding high...
