    Means test calculation help

    Hello All,

can anyone tell me how you figure out the Administrative Expenses item on Line 50? I have the multiplier, but its looking for the projected payment, but isnt that what your disposible income basically is? I need this figure to figure out that one, correct?

on form 22c, you basically just skip line 50, and get the the MDI on line 59, then plug that back in to 50a and finish the form all the way through line 59 again. You'll find that the second calculation of MDI, added to the trustee's fee, will give you the same amount as you originally had on line 59.

Yes, that's the most confusing part, is that calculation. The not so funny thing is, that the amount of the Trustee's fee affects your disposable monthly income, and vice versa.

gregorino has about the best suggestion I have seen. Personally, I use a spreadsheet I designed. Unfortunately, the spreadsheet is too complex to share.

I've been using both the actual worksheets from the USDOJ and the auto-calculating web forms on leagalconsumer.com. With regard to the website, it plugs in my actual mortgage payment (3100) and takes the 10% for MA and calculates it that way(trustee fee $310). I think that is actually more than what it actually calculates for disposible income (~100 more in fact).
