341 Meeting today for BK13

341 Meeting today. Unlike some of the others whose attorneys assured no problems, our attorney told us to expect "some issues." I hope he is just preparing us for anything and that we sail through smoothly.

My experience in life is that no matter what we prepare to answer, we will be surprised with a question from left field! Maybe if I prepare for the worst, things will go better than I expect!

Trying not to be nervous. My intellect tells me this is just business, but my emotions do not listen.

Will post how it goes later.

my attorney was provided the trustee questions prior to our meeting. When i got there My attorney went over the 3 questions. #1 are taxes and insurance included in house payment, #2 did you get fair market value from any items sold prior to bankrupsy #3 will my spouse be working during my plan. That was simple.. now just waiting for creditor objections.

It went smoothly and we got a "pass." After waiting over an hour we were the last ones of the day.
The trustee did ask a couple questions: about closing costs we had paid to my mom to buy the house we are renting from her and about how we dispersed our 401k money.
No questioning of the budget. Our attorney warned us we were close to the unsecured limit; that was not questioned.
Now he warned us that things can still be brought up in the final meeting, but I think as brokeNconfused above, the next meeting should just be about creditor objections.
Since yesterday went smoothly, I really don't foresee problems at the next meeting, Jan. 22nd.

I believe you are required to make your first payment to the trustee within thirty (30) days of filing chapter 13.

Chances are that OP has already made his first payment and he will continue... but yes, within 30 days of filing 13.

Yes, we did begin paying already, right after filing--requirement was within 30 days of filing.
Our attorney also explained that the amount could go up. If that happens, amount would be due retroactively, would go into the plan, making the plan payments even higher. I hope it is not likely for this to happen, but my attorney seems to like us to be prepared for the worst!
