I had received a notice six weeks ago that we were to be receiving our check within 6 weeks, of course, we have not. I first called the number that was on the IRS stimulus sight and sat on hold for over an hour with no luck. Called the other number and had someone on the phone within 5 minutes. I gave her the info, she put me on hold, came back on and said that she had just manually released it, so we should have it within 30 days. Why does the IRS make it so hard, they were the ones that had sent the letter. Thanks again NervousNellie

OK, are you filed yet with BK? Be careful as the Trustee wants that check. They have a look back but according to the Nolo C7 book, if you use the funds for things exempt, (I suggest storable foods), you can get by. If you make a preferential payment, it could bite you. It did us. 'Hub

I have been in bk13 for three years and I always get my refunds. I think that it was held up because we still owe the IRS $13.00, which the trustee just released to them. I always have to call to get my refunds. Irritatating because I always receive them a couple weeks after I call, so why do I even have to call?!!! We had taxes in our 13, which were paid within the first six months of this journey.

The 13.00 is part of the non secured portion of the IRS debt.

Well thank goodness we never had any problems getting our tax returns or our stimulus check. Ours never went through the trustee , always came straight to us. Maybe because we didn't ever owe anything and always stayed current with our payments... I feel for the ones that are done this way because I can imagine it is very frustrating.
