What you are talking about is an Offer in Compromise, or, they have the ability to full pay the account but can give a good reason to abate penalties. It is not as if they just call-up and say, will you take $x.

As far as getting an accurate amount, order your IRS transcripts (Record of Account) for the outstanding periods.

This is what I have been asking the attorney for. I get paper work from NY, TX, CO, Memphis and Nashville , Don't ask me why, and the lady in Nashville doesn't want anything to do with it (Whenever you call her she acts like its a big bother ) and she is supposedly the courts representative.

And as of yesterday the attorney had still not filed for the "respa" thing and its been 45 days. If I have to talk to all these people myself sombody should say something. I ain't skeered
