jnjw...you don't have to wait 6 months to refile a chapter 7. In fact
the court would rather you filing quickly. It has to do with the automatic stay. If you wait a few months and then file again it could look like your using the automatic stay to your advantage. (It will take a month of so for the creditor to get notified an start working again on collecting from you, this way the creditor doesn't have to start).
You will have to file a motion to extend the automatic stay and if you chapter 7 case if filed quickly after your dismissed 13 it does look better for you. It should be just a formality to get them to extend it.
