I received a refund from a debt settlement company of less than $2000. My lawyer did not advise me (even though I told him about it) that I shouldn't spend it! So I used it for several necessities and absolutely did not just squander it away. I haven't filed as yet but will soon. Someone help! Do I have to pay back this money?

It is not a previous debt. This is a refund from a debt settlement company.
I questioned my BK attorney and he NEVER told me I couldn't pay other bills with the funds. Please note that I am only filing and not my husband.Comment

I apologize if I wrote that the wrong way. I truly didn't me to. It's just that this whole thing has been a real nightmare for me. My doctor even put me on anxiety medicine. By the way I sure hope you are right
