    you might want to consider an FHA secured which can be done once you have been in your chapter 13 for 12 months and have made all payments on time to the trustee etc. There are other requirements of course but that is the main one.

        Wow - thats interesting rrockinggramma! So you think after 12 months in a 13 we could refi our balloon mtg (that comes due in 2 years and 3 months) ?

        I was so worried about what we were going to do when that balloon payment comes due. - which is one of the reasons we have paid a little extra towards our mortgage - to get it down (plus get rid of PMI).

          yes just make sure you line up your ducks in preparation. Know what FHA secure requires and you should be ok.

            Ive never seen so many people with an ARM then in this forum. i dont even know anyone that has one..friends and family included. Is it for bad credit people only? Is this the only option I will have in a few years?

              I was told at the time that ARMs were the best deal. I could get into an into one and have a cheaper initial payment, then in a few years when market values went up, refinance into a conventional. I was tricked, or atleast misled into this type of loan. I kick myself now, but its to late.
