    Confirmation at last!

I know others have been waiting longer for confirmation in their Chapter 13 filings, but mine was just ordered yesterday.

I filed about 11/27/2007, 341 meeting on about 2/7/2008 and confirmation hearing about 4/25/2008 (the dates are "about" because I didn't want to look them up but they're very close to accurate).

My question - now that I'm "confirmed" - does this mean that no objections were filed or if objections were filed, they have been settled?

I know each case is different, and each trustee is different - but assuming I make my payments on time - should I assume I'm good for the next 4.5 years?

CONGRATS, busby!! You must be so relieved to be confirmed! Way to go!

It does mean that if there were objections, they have been settled. (Did you have objections?) It has no impact on whether your creditors file or don't file claims.

In Ch 13, non-govt creditors have 90 days after your 341 meeting to file claims (govt creditors like the IRS have 120 days). Have you checked your case on PACER or on 13Network or 13DataCenter to see which of your creditors have filed claims? You can also ask your lawyer.

Once your confirmed number of payments have been made to the trustee, you are done. How many months is your plan set to run? And did you make your first payment to your trustee in December 07?

Now that you are confirmed, your sole job is to continue to make your payments on time!
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I signed up for Pacer today and poked around on my case and what I found most interesting was the timeline of events that's happened - a lot more has gone on that I had imaged.

It all seemed routine though. The trustee filed an objection because he had requested additional information which I provided and he removed the objection.

I didn't see any other objections listed - and I assume they would have been listed as seperate documents filed with the court on the date they were filed. So I guess no objections were filed. And since my 341 was in early February - the deadline was earlier this month - so no objections can be filed now? All my creditors were unsecured credit card companies.

I made my payment in December and each month since then. I know there's big confusion if I'm six-payments into my 60-month plan or just 1-month into it since I was just confimed and one payment has posted since confimation - I'm not going to worry too much about that right now.

My monthly payment is $208 and the confirmation document said that the total of my payments was $12,480 ($208x60) and my lawyer said that payments started on date of filing - I think that I'm six-months into it.

      WHAT A RELIEF.

To anyone facing an upcoming 341 meeting or the few months after - RELAX. In my experience, it's not been that bad. Although I've lost sleep and worried too much, it felt worse than it really was.

The past six-months have been much better. I don't have extra money each month - but at least I'm not living on credit cards now and I know I'm able to pay all my bills again.
