Almost done!!! Tax rebate?

Well, I haven't posted in some time but I have 3 payments left on my 13. 1,500 a month will sure come in handy to save for a house.


Now that the tax rebates will happen I wonder what trustees will require? My last payment is due May 14 and the rebate may arrive in June. Since the government wants it to stimulate the economy and people to spend it, will the trustees leave it alone or require it to be sent to them?

My trustee already has extra funds from tax returns. I think since my payments were per week for much of the plan it has now added up to more than the total required. Hope they refund a little but I just want to be done. Looking at my balance go down and seeing some of my creditors are owed only a few dollars makes me feel great.

I know those just starting have a long road to struggle down but the light will just keep getting brighter at the end of a LONG! tunnel. We have so changed the way we spend and look at money that except for buying a home I will save and spend cash from now on. It is a great feeling to own the things around you and no bills will show up later! Can't wait to post with a big COMPLETE!!!!!

I'm no legal expert by any means, but I would assume you would get to keep the extra.
The major reason for my assumption is that my guess is you filed old law (as your'e only 3 mos away from completing your plan). the old law required only that you pay all of your disposable income into the plan for 3 years. The refund you receive in June will be beyond the 3 year window.

Check w/your attorney, but I would think you should be able to keep it.

That's OK she died last year but I still love the picture!

Guess I'll get to keep it and put it towards my new house someday!
