looks like it will be chapter 13 for me

can anyone who has been through this give me a guesstimate on how much I can expect to pay every month for five years.

    nutshell:

    take home pay : $5700

    mortgage, 2nd, two carpayments: 3800

misc expenses: (water, elec, gas, trash, groceries, insurance, personal needs, drs, tv, phone) 1500

    money left is 400

    what was your scenario?

Have you seen a lawyer yet? I am almost at the same take home and I am about even if they allow all my expences and my home and car payment is a lot lower than yours mine is 1450 together. Do you have kids? How did you come out on the means test?
1500 for your expences seems low.
    Food
    clothing
    medical
    transportation
    charitable
    insurance
    garbage disposal
    cable
    internet
    cell phone
    pet expenses
    child care
    personal grooming
    hygiene
Try and think of all your expenditures, the more time I put into it the more I thought of and I am sure that I forgot to put some down.

    Good luck

don't forget to pad medical with things like prescriptions, dr co-pays, household over the counter meds, etc.
Also - dont' forget to budget not only for car payments, but for regular maintenance such as oil changes, tune ups, tire changes, new tires, etc..........
Also, try to anticipate what household repairs/maintenance you will need during your plan.

We knew we needed to save for a new roof which we would need during our 60 mos plan. We were able to include that as a monthly expense (to save for it).

Maybe your water heater will go, for example.

Try to think of these types of items when doing your budget Leave yourself as much wiggle room as you can. It will make your 13 a lot less painful!!!!!

If I had known then (in Oct 05) what I know now, my budget would have been a bit higher, and my payment lower.

        Oh well..............................
